Proverbs 18:21 The power of Life and Death reside in the Tongue. So we use our tongue to declare the Word of the Lord over our family today. Grown-ups read; children repeat the gold line and say the last two parts together.
Dear Jesus, thank you so much for the opportunity to live a new day. God, we honor your name. Your name be honored as holy.
We thank you that you are the creator, the provider, our shepherd, our peace, our righteousness, our comfort, our guide, our teacher, our brother, our high priest, our intercessor. Thank you, Jesus, that your name is above every name.
And today, Lord, we ask that you protect us on every side. And we put on the full armor of God so we can stand in the evil day.
We put around our waist the belt of truth.
We fasten on the breastplate of righteousness to guard our hearts in Christ Jesus.
We have our feet readied with the gospel of peace.
We take up the shield of faith to extinguish all the fiery darts of the enemy.
We have on our heads the helmet of salvation to guard our minds in Christ Jesus.
We take up the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
And we pray at all times in the Spirit, with all intercession, for all the saints.
We pray today, Lord, that you will guard our ear gates, that we do not hear anything you do not want us to hear.
That you will guard our eye gates, that we do not see anything you do not want us to see.
That you will guard our mouth gates, that we speak only life, blessing, truth, peace and kindness to all we come into contact with.
Today we ask that the words of our mouths and the meditations of our hearts be acceptable to you, our Lord, our rock, and our redeemer.
A memory verse. Say it together until the kids know it by heart.
We pray today, Lord, that our minds will be the mind of Christ, that we will be transformed by the renewing of our minds today, that we will take every thought captive and make our minds obedient unto you, Lord Jesus.
We declare no spirit but the Holy Spirit has access to our minds today and that our minds are covered by the Blood of Jesus.
And you said that the Holy Spirit would come and teach us all things. So today we ask for the Holy Spirit to be our number one teacher, that he teaches us everything he wants to teach us, and we learn everything he wants to teach us. And we pray that you will speak to us. And so we say together:
Speak, Lord, your servants are listening.
And today, Lord, we ask that you give us your spiritual gifts, that we will operate in them, and that we will produce mature spiritual fruit of:
We command our bodies to submit to our soul, our soul to submit to our spirit, and our spirit to submit to the Holy Spirit.
In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
